KMEA Partners with Smart Grid Provider Tantalus Systems

To provide access to an AMI Platform and save members on one-time and ongoing maintenance costs.

KMEA has partnered with Tantalus Systems to offer a purpose-built smart-grid software solution to all of our member utilities. The decision to partner came from our desire to help member utilities digitally transform their grids. KMEA members can license, access and use Tantalus software on KMEA’s hosted server.

The agreement enables members to deploy the cost-effective Tantalus Utility Network (TUNet®) Smart Grid solution. TUNet includes a comprehensive Industrial Internet of Things (“IIoT”) communications network, edge-computing endpoints, a suite of software applications and purpose-built data analytics to automate electric, water and gas endpoints for public distribution utilities.

Member utilities can save on one-time AMI expenses and ongoing support and maintenance costs by sharing a common AMI platform. Using the latest smart grid technology and software, our member utilities will also benefit from faster and more efficient advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) system deployments.
