Essential Functions & Responsibilities

  • Responsible for establishing and maintaining the accounting systems of the Agency, and the preparation of all necessary financial statements.
  • Responsible for the formulation, implementation and adherence to internal accounting controls and appropriate accounting procedures.
  • Responsible for invoicing all project costs in addition to managing the Agency’s banking relationship including letters of credit, lines of credit and cash accounts.
  • Work with other departments to establish invoicing and accounting procedures for new projects and additional cities within a project.
  • Responsible for developing and preparing annual budgets in addition to facilitating the role of primary contact for the auditors during each annual audit including preparing footnotes and management discussion for the audit.
  • Responsible for writing and editing financial reports to assist management in measuring the Agency’s financial status and performance and creating special reports to assist with analysis.
  • Responsible for special assignments requiring expertise in cost accounting and finance.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Candidate must have a minimum of an Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or Finance. At least 5-7 years the in the energy field or in a related area, or suitable combination of education and relevant experience considered.

Additional qualifications include:

  • Candidate should exhibit extensive knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within the Energy and Gas industry.
  • The candidate must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook, and have the ability to learn and adapt to other industry-related, proprietary software. Experience with Sage accounting software is a plus.
  • Must demonstrate ability to prioritize workflow and organize diverse material and ability to handle multiple, competing and changing priorities; ability to perform effectively without supervision and within established time limits and ongoing deadlines;
  • Demonstrated organization, facilitation, communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to interact effectively and professionally, and provide exceptional service, both internally and externally at all times
