KMEA continually seeks other power marketing arrangements where we can match member cities’ short-term and long term needs with one of among many power supply alternatives. With the joint action approach, KMEA members should expect savings and greater service from a larger market presence as well as a broader range of supply options from which the cities can choose.
Following this strategy, KMEA strives to position member cities to better utilize their internal capacity as well as capacity from other neighboring member cities. KMEA has in place agreements through strong relationships with local utilities and other power suppliers to purchase capacity and energy as needed by the membership. Through our Power Supply Committee, KMEA has evaluated many of our member cities electric needs and is poised to react to our members.
